Abstract

This research aims to: study the effect of the level of waterlogging and the composition of NP-SR fertilizers and their interactions on the chemical properties of the soil and the growth of paddy fields rice. The experiment was conducted at the Greenhouse and Soil Science Laboratory of the Faculty of Agriculture, Unsoed, Purwokerto. The study was arranged using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 2 factors, namely the height of waterlogging (3 levels): G0 (without waterlogging), G1 (waterlogging as high as 1-2 cm) and G2 (waterlogging as high as 3-4 cm) and the composition of NP-SR fertilizer (6 levels): K0 (control), K1 (NP-SR fertilizer grade 15-0), K2 (NPSR fertilizer grade 15-5, K3 (NP-SR fertilizer grade 15-10), K4 (NP-SR fertilizer grade 15-15) and K5 (NP-SR fertilizer grade 15-20). There were 18 treatment combinations, which were repeated 3 times and 54 experimental units. Data were analyzed by variance, if it shows a real effect, a further DMRT test is carried out at a level of 5%, the results of the study indicate that the height of the waterlogging significantly influences the pH(H2O) and total N of soil, while the composition of fertilizer has a significant effect on pH(H2O), pH(KCl), EC and total N of the soil after incubation. The interaction between the height of the waterlogging with the composition of NP-SR fertilizer at various grades to the pH(H2O), EC and total N of soil after incubation. NP-SR grade 15-20 on soils with height of waterlogging 1-2 cm most influential on increasing the pH(H2O) to 6.06, EC to 4,216.3 µS / cm and the total N of the soil to be 0.48% N. The height of waterlogging and composition of NPSR fertilizer does not affect the growth of paddy field rice. There is no interaction between the height of waterlogging with the composition of NP-SR fertilizer on plant growth.

Key words: waterlogging, NP-SR fertilizer, soil chemical properties, paddy field rice
